Good beer + good design, the perfect pairing
At MODassic we’re big fans of craft beer and were thrilled to work with Peticolas Brewing Company to develop their new website. Even before working with them, Peticolas was our favorite local brewery for many reasons. First, their beer is amazing. Second, they’re great people. Last, but certainly not least, they’re huge soccer fans – that’s a hat trick for success in our book. All they needed was an amazing new website.
The goal of the Peticolas site was to really capture the personality of the brewery and its community of fans. Craft beer fans, just like soccer fans, are passionate, loyal and supportive. They play a huge role in shaping the brand and personality of the brewery. We needed to find a way to capture that. We did that through imagery, interactive design and social media integration.
We developed a custom website that is fully responsive for mobile devices, tablets and desktop. We created a modular style homepage that both allows the user to quickly find the info they are looking for but also spend time discovering and learning more about the brewery and their beers.
Using the Google maps API, we developed a custom beer finder. The user can even filter by beer if they are looking for a particular brew. We also developed a custom import option so Peticolas can easily update all of their locations by simply uploading an export from their distribution log.
The site is built on WordPress with a highly customized backend so that Peticolas can quickly and easily add beers, awards, staff members, etc.
People love sharing Instagram photos of their beer and there is no better advertising. On each beer page we created an integration that encourages people to hashtag their beers and gives Peticolas the ability to feature that valuable user generated content right on that beer page.
Brewery tours, pint-nights and growler fills events are essential for craft breweries. We created an easy to update calendar that showcases all of the Peticolas events.
To capture the spirit of the brewery and encourage users to explore the website, we designed video hover states that bring the site to life when a user hovers over a section.
We did a full day of photography shooting all of the different beers they offer as well as shooting headshots of the staff – the brew crew. We also shot video of the brew crew in action as they brewed beer and made deliveries to local bars.
