What is RankBrain?
RankBrain is a machine-learning artificial intelligence program that Google developed to help process search queries and results. RankBrain interprets searches to find pages that might not have the exact words that were searched for and is able to make connections between search queries.
For example, RankBrain could connect a rare query like “what’s the title of the consumer at the highest level of a food chain” to a fairly common query like “top level of the food chain.” It would know that those users are likely looking for the same information and can show results accordingly.
RankBrain is only one part of the overall algorithm that Google uses to rank results. Learn more about RankBrain by reading our blog post.
